Loyalty to the QueenPhotograph by Wide World Photos, 1929A creative Ohio beekeeper styled himself a true beehive hairdo in 1929. Beekeepers can manipulate where their swarms cluster using the attraction of their worker bees to their queen. If the queen is in a separate, yet nearby, spot, her worker bees will find her and send a message to the rest of the swarm about her location through their scent glands. This beekeeper may have used the same technique to get this over-the-top effect.
